How It Works: Your Journey from Start to Finish
From your first call to ongoing care, we’ve designed a seamless process to guide you every step of the way. Learn what to expect at each stage, from scheduling your appointment to personalized treatments and follow-up care. Your journey to better mental health starts here.
01
Step 1: Contact Us
You can start your journey with a simple phone call or by
requesting a free consultation online. When you contact Brainstorm Florida to schedule your appointment, our caring team will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have about our services.
02
Step 2: Intake Call and Insurance Verification
During your intake call, we'll gather essential information including:
- Your name and contact information
- Payment options and insurance details
- Medical history and current medications
- Specific concerns or treatment goals
We'll then verify your insurance coverage and explain your benefits, so you know exactly what to expect regarding costs.
03
Step 3: Schedule Your First Appointment
Once we've verified your insurance, we'll book your first appointment at a time that works best for your schedule. You'll receive all the details you need, including preparation instructions specific to your treatment type.
04
Step 4: Complete Your Intake Forms
We'll send you secure online intake forms to complete before your first visit. This saves time during your appointment and allows our team to review your information in advance, ensuring we're fully prepared to provide personalized care.
05
Step 5: Prepare for Your Appointment
Preparation depends on the type of service you're receiving:
For QEEG Brain Mapping (PrTMS® Therapy):
- Wash your hair and avoid using any hair products
- Apply light makeup only
- Have a sugary breakfast or snack before your appointment (your brain runs on glucose!)
For Psychiatry Appointments:
- Bring a valid ID and insurance cards
- Have a list of current medications ready
- Arrive a few minutes early to complete your patient profile
06
Step 6: Your First Appointment Experience
PrTMS® Therapy:
During your brain mapping session, our team will take detailed measurements to create your personalized treatment protocol. For ongoing treatments, you'll simply sit comfortably in a chair while experiencing a gentle tapping sensation on your head. Each session is relaxing and non-invasive.
Psychiatry Services:
We'll complete your patient profile by taking your photo and merging your intake forms into our system. From there, we'll discuss your concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan.
07
Step 7: Ongoing Treatment and Monitoring
PrTMS® Therapy:
Every 5 to 7 treatments, we'll perform remapping to update your prescription protocol. This personalized approach sets us apart from traditional TMS therapy and ensures optimal results throughout your treatment.
08
Step 8: Post-Treatment Care
After PrTMS® Treatments:
You can expect minimal side effects. Some patients experience slight headaches or fatigue during their first few treatments, which can be easily managed with rest or a sugary snack. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Payment Options
Payment in full is due at the time of your appointment. If you have insurance, we will collect your co-pay at the visit and then submit the claim to your insurance carrier. Please note that your co-pay may not be the only payment required; after the claim is processed, your insurance company may assign additional charges to patient responsibility, which we will follow up with you about. This amount depends on how your insurance processes the claim, and sometimes a significant portion of the bill is placed on patient responsibility.
We also accept:
- Insurance billing (in-network and out-of-network)
